The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall is one of Bangkok’s most impressive architectural landmarks. Located within the Dusit Palace complex, this grand Renaissance-style building has a rich royal history and remains a symbol of Thailand’s artistic and cultural heritage.
Commissioned by King Rama V in 1908 and completed in 1915 during the reign of King Rama VI, the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall was originally intended as a royal reception hall. Today, it stands as a masterpiece of Italian Renaissance and neo-classical architecture in Thailand.
The building is most famous for its white Carrara marble exterior, intricately carved pillars, majestic domes, and beautifully painted interior ceilings depicting significant events in Thai history. It once housed the Thai parliament and has hosted numerous royal and state ceremonies.
